At the end of April, the pool held an exciting and intensive workshop on “Project Implementation” with Yann Gross. Ten participants met for two days at Atelier m87 in Bern to exchange ideas.
Yann Gross took the young photographers on a journey through his work: From the first projects in Switzerland, to Uganda, finally to the Amazon rainforest, and back to Europe, to the exhibitions in Arles and installations in Vevey. In addition to the artistic approach, the production costs of books, exhibitions, installations and living costs were also discussed. All in all, a very valuable insight into the creative process of a photographic artist.
On the second day of the workshop, the participants each presented their own project. These ranged from pure project ideas and initial test images to forthcoming publications. There was intensive discussion, questioning and stimulation – both from Yann Gross and among the participants. The result of the workshop was a wide range of inspiration and enriching ideas for the continuation of photographic and film projects.
