Conceiving a group exhibition with unfinished works is a particular challenge: Depending on the status of the works, it is neither clear what exactly the focus of the work should be, nor is there any visual material at all. The main focus is therefore on the process of creating the work and how this can be made visible to the exhibition visitor.
Through repeated discussion of the participants’ projects in the plenum and with the curator Anna Konstantinova, a form was gradually found for each work that describes the current status of the work and also offers interesting added value for the viewer. In between, we were inspired by Marc Lee’s rich oeuvre and the unconventional ways in which his works are presented. In the second part of the workshop, we worked together on the upcoming group exhibition.
Marc Lee is a Swiss artist. He uses contemporary art as a vehicle to continuously redefine how we see ourselves and the world around us. He experiments with information and communication technologies and locates thematic clusters that contain creative, cultural, social, ecological and political aspects. He creates network-oriented and interactive art projects: Installations, media art, internet art, performance art, video art, augmented reality (AR) art, virtual reality (VR) art and mobile apps.
